What Golf Taught Me About Recovery
The thing about having good fundamentals is that you can hit a bad shot and still be okay. (written 6/15/2025)
After many years away from the game, I recently found myself back on the golf course—relearning my swing and rediscovering a sport I enjoyed growing up. But what really struck me wasn’t just the joy of playing again. It was how relevant the lessons of golf are to recovery—especially for those of us navigating Long COVID or other post-infection conditions.
During a recent round, a friend was offering some much needed coaching advice, and said something that stuck with me:
“The thing about having good fundamentals is that you can hit a bad shot and still be okay.”
In golf and in life, it’s those strong fundamentals—our body’s core systems and alignment—that help us bounce back when things go off course. At ThriveNinety, that’s exactly what we focus on: helping you rebuild your physiological foundation so you can return to the life you want, with more resilience and confidence.

We hope it inspires you to reflect on your own “swing”, the status of your fundamentals, and maybe even pick up something that brings you joy and insight.
Warmly,
Katie
