Why - COVID impacts people

Why COVID and Long COVID impacts your body the way it does, drawing on research and evidence to inform our understanding. We summarize key findings and up-to-date analyses and share them with you.

What - needs to happen to manage symptoms

Use evidence to outline what can be done to help your body manage issues created by Long COVID.

How - simple and practicable

Share specific step-by-step guidance about actions, movements and tools that you can use to feel better.

What makes ThriveNinety different?

The first step of our approach is to use research and knowledge about Long COVID In the second step, we are looking for a deeper understanding of what is needed to support the body and brain based on the research. We then translate that into a set of clear and simple actions that you can use to manage Long COVID symptoms.

This is not about a rigid plan where every detail must be followed to the letter. This is about offering structure and knowledge that lets people discover which elements provide the highest impact and support them to feel better. We do this by sharing research and information; providing guidance; and offering programs that take things one step at a time - sharing movements, activities, tips and self assessments. People we work with walk away with a new set of evidence-based tools they can use to help manage Long COVID symptoms.

Programs are designed to support specific needs of those with Long COVID and Post-infection Conditions:

  • Web-based, so there is no need for travel or physical exposure to others
  • Structured approach that takes one step at a time
  • Content that is easy for any ability level
  • Focused sessions can be done quickly (5-10 minutes) without specialist equipment at a time that is convenient
  • Community - virtual live meet-ups help keep people connected to learn from others, ask questions and have a chance to speak directly with Katie and Andrea
  • Provide education and tools to help avoid “crashes” or Post Exertional Malaise (PEM),
  • Including an assessment process to understand abilities and tailor elements
To the Programs

How do we know where to start?

We have a robust initial assessment that incorporates respected questionnaire and vetting processes, and we include a few additional elements that we have found to be important. This allows us to tailor content to your current ability levels, so participants can operate in a space that is safe while still making progress.

"I am so grateful I had the opportunity to connect with Katie and Andrea. They calmly guided me through the steps to take and pointed out the ones to avoid. I feel very understood and safe, and I felt better with week one. I am very motivated, taking it one step at a time."

Medication-Free Brain-Body Support

For those facing Long COVID, it can feel like being unhealthy and not having a way to get better. For some people, it may limit their ability to do day-to-day tasks, for others, it may mean they have trouble exercising the way they did, or they have developed sensitivity to certain foods or other stimuli (like noise). All or any of this can feel frustrating and lonely, in part because the medical community doesn’t have clear guidelines and protocols to diagnose the root cause or offer tools to reduce symptoms.

We know that we will continue to learn more about COVID-19 and how it impacts the body. But we also know there is enough research available now to create an evidence-based tool kit to help people with Long COVID and other post-infection conditions.

Katie and Andrea use this evidence, education, and experience to help those with Long COVID manage symptoms through a combination of practical tools - rooted in science about what helps brains and bodies function at their best.

Our approach includes 5 Pillars to support whole body recovery. As a foundation, the tools ease the nervous system and reduce inflammatory responses, allowing your body to self-regulate and reduce the symptoms and the impact of Long COVID. It has proven effective, builds on the foundations of healthy lifestyles, and is medication-free. This approach can be used on its own or in combination with other treatments, as advised by your doctor.
