New Insights from the NIH RECOVER Conference on Long COVID
Key Insights from the NIH RECOVER Conference: What’s Next for Long COVID? (written 10/06/2024)
In last week’s newsletter, I shared that I had attended the NIH’s RECOVER conference in Washington, D.C. This was a great event, and the last week has been full of activity for Andrea and I, following up on connections made and reflecting on conversations and knowledge shared.
This week’s blog post, Key Insights from the NIH RECOVER Conference: What’s Next for Long COVID?, offers additional background into the content discussed and implications for people living with Long COVID - and looking for solutions. Pharmaceutical cures are likely years away, and (shockingly) many in the clinical community still remain skeptical that Long COVID is real. But the profile of Long COVID is growing, as people impacted share their experience. Media stories are becoming more consistent and the Long COVID community is getting more established.
The conference was a reminder of how much progress has been made, but also how much work remains to be done. If you’re interested in learning more about some near term symptom management options, or how we can help you on your journey with Long COVID, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you strength and support,
Warmly,
Katie
