Reduce an Everyday Stressors to Build More Capacity
A small shift—like choosing safer cookware—can free up energy for recovery and resilience. (written 09/07/2025)
When you’re living with Long COVID or another post-infection condition, your system is already under strain. That’s why we often talk about pacing—not only in the context of balancing activity and rest, but also thinking about reducing hidden stressors to create more capacity.
The modern world is full of them. But here’s the hopeful part: once you know what they are, you often have the power to avoid them - or at least limit exposure.
One example? Cookware.
Many pots and pans still contain PFAS (“forever chemicals”) that quietly add stress to your immune and nervous systems. By switching to safer materials—like cast iron, stainless steel, or ceramic—you reduce one more burden on your body without adding more work to your day.
This is what pacing looks like in action: small, sustainable choices that create more room for healing and resilience.
